Example of the calculation of the operating area of a "trolling valve"

700 rpm engine simulation

Engine speed set at 700 rpm

Note here that the operating range is narrowed in order to limit the temperature rise.

In this case, the propeller speed can be varied from 0 to 115 rpm.

570 rpm engine simulation

Engine speed set at 570 rpm

Note here that there is no restriction of the operating range.

The speed range of the propeller is considerably larger.

In this case, propeller speed can be varied from 0 to 275 rpm.
